Bhubaneswar: A cold wave has swept all across Odisha. The mercury has plummeted in most of the districts of the state. The cold along with the fog seems to have thrown life out of gear in most parts.
Heavy fog was observed in parts of coastal and interior Odisha. In the last 24 hours, temperatures in four places was recorded below 11 degrees Celsius.
Phulbani recorded a low of 5 degrees Celsius. The temperature is unlikely to change in the next two days. Interior Odisha, the minimum temperature could drop by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius.
But normal winds are expected to rise as winds continue to blow from the east of the country. Coastal Odisha is expected to have normal temperatures, according to the Regional Meteorological Center at Bhubaneswar.
