CM seeks 25-33% free power from thermal plants in Odisha

Naveen Patnaik, Ajay BhallaBhubaneswar  : Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday sought 25% to 30% free power from coal fired thermal power generating stations in the state in a meeting with Union Power Secretary  Ajay Bhalla here at the State Secretariat .

The chief Minister also asked for de-allocation of costly NTPC power from stations located outside Odisha.

Among other things, Patnaik sought to speed up the finalisation of Standard Bidding Document for the Ultra Mega Power project at Bhedabahal in Sundargarh district, which is pending for the Centre’s approval for more than three years.

Bhalla called on the Chief Minister today and discussed a range of issues relating to the power sector and electrification in the state.
