CM Patnaik increases Old-Age Pension

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced a hike in the social security benefits given to the senior citizens every month on Saturday. Henceforth, they will be receiving Rs 200 more for their pension from 15 February onwards.

He also announced that the pension holders who used to get Rs 300 would now get Rs 500 (above 60). Mr Patnaik added that the pensioners above the age of 80 years would now get Rs 700. The Chief Minister made this announcement during the weekly ‘Ama Gaon Ama Bikash’ programme.

In his address, he said, “I wish that all bona fide beneficiaries of the State reap the benefits of social security scheme. Keeping in view, 5 lakh more beneficiaries have been included in the Madhu Babu Pension Yojana. Thus, 48 lakh beneficiaries will now reap the benefits.”
