CM Naveen to visit Kendrapada ahead of Patakura bypoll

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is set to visit Kendrapada district on Monday evening. Well ahead of Patakura bypoll his visit will be a huge boost for local BJD workers.

As per the official itinerary, CM Naveen will arrive at Kendrapada at 4.30 pm. At 5 pm he will visit the Sri Baladevjeo temple. His return to the capital is planned on the same day. Local authorities have tightened the security in light of CM’s visit.

Chief Minister’s visit right ahead of Patakura bypolls is touted to act as a huge boost for local Biju Janta Dal (BJD) workers. While Naveen Patnaik returned to power with a thumping majority for a record fifth time, the elections at Patakura Assembly constituency had to be cancelled twice.

First, it was cancelled after the untimely death of BJD candidate Bed Prakash Agarwalla and then due to Cyclone Fani. The current BJD candidate for Patakura Assembly constituency is Sabitri Agarwalla, wife of late Bed Prakash Agarwalla. BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik will be looking to add another win to his kitty.
