CM Naveen Patnaik urges people to join in Prayers on Good Friday

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today appealed the people to join in prayers to the Lord for peace, harmony and brotherhood on the occasion of Good Friday.

“On Good Friday, let’s join in prayers to the Lord to bless our lives with love, compassion and forgiveness and guide mankind on the path of peace, harmony and brotherhood,” Patnaik twitted.

Good Friday, the day commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, is being observed across the state and the world today. It falls after 40 days of fasting prayers. On this day, priests narrate the sufferings that Jesus Christ took upon himself for the sake of humanity.

Earlier, Christians from all strata of society congregated in various churches in the State capital to meditate upon the seven words that Lord Jesus Christ uttered on the cross, experiencing excruciating pain and agony.
