Balangir: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will address a Mission Shakti conclave at Patharchepa ground here in Odisha on Wednesday. He is scheduled to reach the district headquarter town at 11. 40 AM.
Members of several Self Help Groups from two districts- Subarnapur and Balangir- will attend the programme.
There are nearly 70 lakh women organised into 6 lakh SHGs, which are involved in different activities like making LED bulbs, running buses under Biju Gaon Gadi, supplying take-home ration under the ICDS programme, electricity metre reading and civil construction.
On January 5, the Chief Minister announced Mission Shakti Loans for SHGs under which the rate of interest on loans to SHGs was reduced to zero per cent. Every SHG is eligible to take loans up to Rs 3 lakh at an effective zero per cent interest rate.
Meanwhile, the district administration has put in place adequate security arrangements here in view of the Chief Minister’s visit.
