CM Naveen Patnaik flags off pilgrimage train

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday flagged off pilgrimage train for senior citizens at Balasore Railway Station through video conferencing from here on Monday.

The train will take the pilgrims of the state to Agra, Fatehpur Sikri  and Mathura  in North India during the seven-day tour.

As many as 964 senior citizens from 4 districts boarded the special train. The pilgrims consisted of 305 senior citizens from Balasore, 179 from Bhadrak, 201 from Jajpur and 270 from Mayurbhanj district.

Sources said, as many 26 officials of the state govt are accompanying the senior citizens for a hassle-free journey.

This is for the seventh time that pilgrimage train service has been flagged off under the Baristha Nagarika Tirtha Yatra Yojana from the state.
