CM Naveen Attends Farmers’ Congregation In Bargarh; Inaugurates Several Projects

Bargarh: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday visited Bargarh district to attends a mega farmers’ congregation (Chasi Samabesa) at Ichchapalli under Sohela block. The Chief Minister also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various developmental projects during the programme.

CM Naveen inaugurated Phase-II of monetary assistance under KALIA Scheme at the congregation. Under this, beneficiaries will directly get cash funds deposited to their respective bank accounts via DBT mode. According to estimates, over 14 lakh small and marginal farmers will be benefitted through this. Around Rs 700 crore will be directly transferred to the bank accounts of the ‘KALIA’ beneficiaries.

The Chief Minister also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for projects worth Rs. 2010.86 crore, including the inauguration of Sohela-Nuapada stretch of Biju Expressway, Gangadhar Meher Lift Irrigation Project, Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas & rural piped water projects.

Noteworthy, CM Naveen Patnaik’s Bargarh visit comes in wake of the 12-hour Odisha Bandh called by farmers of Naba Nirman Krushak Sangathan (NNKS), demanding ‘Price, Prestige, and Pension.’
