CM meets Odia passengers injured in Utkal Express mishap

Naveen Patnaik at Capital HospitalBhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday visited the Capital Hospital here and met the five Odia passengers who were injured in the Puri- Haridwar Utkal Express derailment in Muzzafarnagar on Saturday.

Patnaik met the five injured Odia passengers in the presence of Health Minster Pratap Jena and Bhubaneswar Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena.

The five passengers have been identified as Madhu Mandal, Amiya Das, Debendra Das, Jatri Das, Mubarak Ali and Sabita Mallick.

Apart from asking the injured about their condition, the CM also wished their speedy recovery.

“The Odia passengers who were injured in the Puri- Haridwar Utkal Express derailment in Muzzafarnagar are recovering fast,” said Patnaik after meeting the injured persons.

“Honuorable Chief Minister came to hospital and took stock of the situation of the injured Odia passengers. The state government would bear the treatment expenditure of the injured passengers,” informed the Health Minister.

The five-member team, led by Transport Minister Nrusingha Sahu, had brought the injured Odias back to the state yesterday. As many as 23 people were killed and around 150 were injured in the train accident.
