CM launches projects worth Rs 931 cr in Narsinghpur of Cuttack

Cuttack: CM Naveen Patnaik today launched projects worth Rs 931 crore during his visit to Narsinghpur block under Badamba Assembly Constituency in Cuttack district today.

After landing at Anant Narayan High School ground at 12.15 pm, Naveen headed to the meeting venue and inaugurated Rs 225 cr worth five mega lift irrigation projects aimed at benefitting farmers of 162 villages under Narasinghpur block and catering to the need of 25,000 acres of land.

Later, he laid foundation stone for Mahanadi Mega Piped Drinking Water Project to be set up at a budget of Rs 273 cr. Once completed, the project will benefit 73 panchayats of both Badamba and Narsinghpur blocks.

Similarly, foundation stone was also laid for Rengali South Canal project worth Rs 185 cr for the benefit of farmers of 54 villages under Badamba area.

While addressing a massive public gathering at the venue, Naveen dubbed his KALIA farmer assistance scheme as a historical one. He also criticised the PM-KISAN scheme alleging that it has no provision for assistance to landless farmers and sharecroppers.
