CM launches projects worth Rs 618.66 Cr in Jharsuguda today

Jharsuguda: CM Naveen Patnaik launched a slew of projects worth Rs Rs 618.66 crore in Jharsuguda district which also includes the much awaited Cancer Care Hospital to be built in at budget of Rs 145 crore.

Naveen who arrived at the Jharsuguda airport at around Veer Surendra Sai (VSS) Airport here at 12 noon, first rushed to the Cancer Care Hospital site to take part in the foundation stone lying. Later, he inaugurated at least six irrigation projects at Malda, Kantapali, Jharsuguda Sadar and Lakhanpur blocks set up at a cost of cost of Rs 32 lakh along with two Grid Stations, one each for Durlaga and Arda constructed at a budget of Rs 13 crore.

The CM also inaugurated at least four mega water supply projects, one each at Jharsuguda Sadar, Kolabira, Kirmira and Laikera areas. These projects have been constructed at a cost of Rs 388 crore.

Similarly, Choukipada railway overbridge (Rs 35.62 crore), Jharsuguda Nidan Kendra (Rs 15 crore) and Amati irrigation project (Rs 18.22 crore) were some other projects for which the CM laid the foundation stones.

In the concluding part of the project launching, ahead of leaving for Amlipali field to address a public meeting the CM handed over Rs 1 crore digital empowerment incentive to 3489 women Self Help Groups (SHGs), assistance to 1422 Nirman Shramik, social security benefits to 30 beneficiaries, and land records to 1002 landless people.
