CM hails State Police Force on 61st Senior Police Officers’ Conference

Bhubaneswar: The 61st Senior Police Officers’ 3-day Conference concluded on Saturday. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik was the chief guest of the event organized at Police Bhavan here.

CM Patnaik heaped praises on the Odisha Police for maintaining law and order situation in the state, minimizing crime rates and Police’s role in 2019 Men’s Hockey World Cup’s management. CM was presented with the agenda consisting of discussions at the 3-day conference.

Also present in the event were the Chief Election Commissioner to prep the State Police for the upcoming General elections and the Forensic expert to educate the force on better use of Forensic Science.

Attending the conference were district ACP, range IG, DIG, Cuttack-Bhubaneswar DCP, under-training IPS officers. Also present were senior officials from Homeguard, Fire Service, Vigilance departments.

CM Naveen Patnaik commended the Police Department on the last day of 61st Senior Police Officers’ Conference. Implying law and order, minimizing crime rates, managing 2019 Men’s Hockey World Cup, and tackling Maoists- Mr. Patnaik congratulated the department in being successful in all. The CM emphasized on modernization of techniques and make optimal use of available technology.

He pointed out that Police personnel face all kinds of unfavorable situations every day, and yet they make the best out of any situations. The State Government has strived hard to provide the Police force a better working environment so as to curb the crime rate across the state, said the CM.

CM Naveen Patnaik also commemorated many Police Officers for their contribution to the Police Department and the State.

Agenda of Day 3

Two prime agendas were in focus at the last day of the conference- upcoming General Election and use of Forensic Science.

Chief Election Commisioner Surendra Kumar was present at the 61st Senior Police Officers’ Conference. He was here to prep the State Police for the upcoming General Elections. He was here to make sure of free and fair elections. He also said that another workshop will be conducted before elections for zonal IGs.

Forensic expert Hitesh Trivedi was a part of the conference to upskill the State Police force on making the best use of available Forensic Science technology. He gave several tips to the Police personnel too.

On last day of 61st Senior Police Officers’ Conference, CM Patnaik launched a website called ‘Arakshi App’. Investigating Officers can use this website for investigation. This conference will be the best for young IPS officers, added Mr. Patnaik.

Police DG Dr Rajendra Prasad Sharma said, “On this 3-day conference we had discussions on maintaining law and order, tackling Maoist activities, handling cyber-crimes.”
