The new version of the AKASH missile is a combination of both command guidance and active terminal seeker guidance capable of hitting aerial targets such as ballistic missiles, air-to-surface missiles, jets, and cruise missiles.
Notably, the AKASH surface-to-air missile had been developed to enemy fighter planes and missiles coming from a distance of 18 to 30 kilometres.
