Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today appointed senior BJD leader and former State Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare minister Sanjay Das Burma as the Deputy Chairman of State Planning Board.
Along with the new post Das Burma was also given cabinet rank, by the CM.
A two-times MLA from Brahmagiri constituency Das Burma had earlier held the post of president of Biju Yuva Janata dal (BYJD) previously. He also worked as secretary, convener and vice president of BJD party.
In his reaction post appointment, Das Burma said his priority will be to see that the Planning Board works effectively in Odisha. A discussion will be held with the CM to prepare a blueprint for the restructuring of the Board, he added.
Notably, deputy chairpersons and members are regularly appointed to the Board regularly.
