Cloud Of Uncertainty Looms Over Ekamra Kshetra Project Near Lingaraj Temple, Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The National Monument Act (NMA) shall affect the Ekamra Kshetra Project Near Lingaraj Temple in the capital city of Odisha, Bhubaneswar.

Ekamra Kshetra Project is in uncertainty. By-laws shall be applicable for the Lingaraj Temple, the Brahmeshwar Temple and the Ananta Basudev Temple.

The controversy erupted again after the Union Culture Minister made it clear, Minister Prahlad Singh Patel said the proposed by-law NMA.

It has been opposed by the servitors and local residents for the fear of he temples being damaged. If this by-law is not repealed the Ekamra Kshetra plan will be pushed into uncertainty.

Excavations are underway near some ancient sites by the state government  for development, which is likely to be ruined.
