Class VI student thrashed by headmaster for failing to guard house

Keonjhar: A Class VI boy has been thrashed mercilessly by the Headmaster of a UGME School in Telkoi block of Keonjhar district for disobeying his order to work as a night guard at his residence.

As per the report, the accused identified as the Headmaster of Golabandha UGME School had been to Bhubaneswar in some work last Wednesday. During his absence, he had directed the Class VI boy and the victim identified as Soumya Ranjan Nayak and along with a classmate to guard his house at night.

But as per the allegation of the victim, he failed to carry out the order of the headmaster namely, Ramakant Bal after his classmate didn’t come to sleep at his house to guard it on the same night.

The next day Bal called up the boy to his room in the school and thrashed mercilessly for his mistake.

Family members of the victim student have filed a case complaint to police in this connection demanding justice.

The matter is under investigation and stringent action will be taken against the guilty, assured Telkoi Block Education Officer (BEO) Jagabandhu Sahu while informing on the development.
