Keonjhar: In a shocking railway track mishap, a Class 8 student was mowed down by a train at Baraguda under Harichandanpur police limits in Keonjhar today.
The deceased has been identified as Anish Kumar Sahoo of Narangpur area.
Sahoo, who studied in Harichandanpur government model residential school, was returning his hostel after classes when the mishap took place in the noon. While trying to cross a railway track he failed to spot a coming train and got mowed down.
Local Police reached the spot and sent the body for autopsy by reaching the spot immediately after the incident.
A pall of gloom has descended on the school following the occurrence of the mishap.
