Rourkela: Shame yet again! The nationwide uproar against sexual assault seems to have had no effect on people. In yet another shameful act, a class 3 girl has been allegedly raped in Rourkela of Sundargarh district.
The incident supposedly occurred on Saturday night. The family of the survivor lodged a complaint at Jhirapani police station yesterday after which, the incident came to public knowledge.
According to locals, the girl was found crying near Koel river in wee hours of the morning. The girl, a minor had gone to the Pump House slum in Sector 20 to attend tuitions on Saturday but did not return.
A relative later spotted her near the river. She was later admitted to Rourkela Government Hospital (RGH) in critical condition.
The local police have launched a probe into the matter. Details are awaited.
