Class 10 student killed in road mishap hours before Matric result declaration

Kendrapara: In a shocking incident, a Class 10 student of Rajnagar area in Kendrapara district who had appeared for the annual Matric Examinations this year was killed in a road mishap at Baro Chhak last night.

The deceased has been identified as Biswajit Majhi, son of one Rabindra Majhi of Raja Raneswari village of the same district. He had appeared for the HSC examination from Banabihari Jeu High School, Rajnagar.

Biswajit who had been to Cuttack in some work yesterday was returning home by boarding a Mahindra Bolero when the mishap took place. At Baro Chhak on Cuttack-Chandbali road driver of his vehicle failed to spot a stationary truck parked on the road and ended up hitting it.

While the victim died on the spot, the driver managed to escape from the spot after accident.

Police rushed to the spot immediately and sent the body for autopsy after seizing the mangled vehicle.
