Malkangiri: Mystery shrouded the death of a Class 10 girl student whose body was found from the computer lab of the residential school where he studied in Sikhapally village in the district last night.
The deceased has been identified as Bandana Sarkar, a student of SSD Girls High School, Sikhapally.
Bandana’s death came to light after she went missing from the school hostel during dinner last night and the Matron launched a frantic search. The deceased was later found in a pool of blood in the computer lab of the school with wrists slit.
Though the school authorities rushed the girl to Malkangiri DHH immediately after the incident, doctors present there declared her brought dead.
While the school authorities are claiming that the girl has committed suicide, her family thinks otherwise.
“My sister might have been killed after failed rape attempt. We want a probe into the matter as her body was found under mysterious conditions from the school premise,” alleged Amit Kumar Sardar, the deceased’s brother.
Meanwhile, Pitambar Nayak, DWO, Malkangiri has reached the hospital to take stock of the situation.
Police have also started an investigation into the incident after lodging a case and sending the body for autopsy.
