Koraput: The district administration of Koraput on Tuesday sealed and imposed a fine of Rs 94,000 on Galaxy Cinema Hall situated at Semiliguda Town of the district for running without licence.
A team of the district administration including Koraput Sub-Collector Lalit Kumar Kanhar, Sunabeda SDPO Manoj Kumar Behera, IICs of Sunabeda and Semiliguda Police stations and Semiliguda Additional Tahasildar conducted a raid on the film hall and sealed it for running without licence.
The licence of the cinema hall had reportedly expired in 2019, following which the district administration had repeatedly sent notice to the concerned authorities to renew the licence. However, the owner of the theatre was doing business illegally without renewing the licence.
