Chit Fund Probe: CBI slaps notices on BJD’s Arun Sahu, Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak

Bhubaneswar: In an important development in the chit fund scam probe in the state, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today slapped notices on two former ministers of the Odisha Government Arun Sahu and Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak.

While both the leaders have been summoned for examination in connection with Rs 500 crore Seashore Group chit fund scam, Arun had been told to appear before the central investigation agency on January 29 which they failed to response. Atanu’s appearance is also doubted as BJD today claimed that the notice is yet to reach him.

“The notices have not reached the concerned recipients. We came to know about the move only from media. It seems as if the letters were first handed over to media and then posted. This is an attempt to make the issue politicise,” said Sasmit Patra, BJD Spokesperson.

Seashore Group is one of the 44 ponzi companies in Odisha which came under the scanner of CBI and ED following a Supreme Court order in the year 2014.
