The Banapur JMFC court had on March 31 rejected the Chilika MLA’s bail plea, following which he was sent to jail. Later, he approached the High Court for bail.

While conducting a hearing of his bail plea, the High Court granted him interim bail on health grounds on April 27 asking him to surrender after seven days. However, the court again extended his interim bail period twice till May 11 and May 23.
