Bhubaneswar: Chilika MLA Prasanta Jagadev’s bail plea has been rejected by the Banpur JMFC Court on Thursday. The arrested MLA had applied for the bail on March 28. However, the court conducted the hearing today and arrested his bail plea.
While rejecting Jagadev’s bail plea the Banpur JMFC Court sent him to the judicial custody till further order. However, his counsel is likely to move the High Court seeking bail for him.
On the other hand, the arrested MLA was shifted to the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar from Banapur sub-jail as he suffered from high blood pressure, diabetes, dizziness, and chest pain.
It is to be noted here that more than 20 people including six-seven cops, journalists, and women were injured after they were run over by the legislator on March 12. In return, the angry mob attacked the MLA brutally and vandalized his four-wheeler.
Later, Jagadev was arrested after recovering from his injuries at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar
