Puri: Tension prevailed in Puri District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) last night after a 6-month-old baby girl died under treatment and her family alleged medical negligence.
As per the report, a couple from Danda village under Chandanpur police limits in the same district had admitted their 6-month-old baby to the DHH five days ago due to an ailment. After remaining under treatment till last evening the condition of the baby started deteriorating and needed an injection.
Family of the baby has alleged that the doctor who was on duty administered a wrong injection to the patient last night following which he passed away.
Angry relatives of the dead child held a protest inside the hospital for hours demanding action against the guilty doctor in connection with the case.
Police rushed to the spot to pacify the protesters.
