Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today visited the state-run Capital Hospital for tooth filling. Patnaik had earlier visited the hospital in December for root canal treatment.

Patnaik reached the hospital amid tight security and stayed there for around half an hour. Hundreds of spectators also gathered to have a glimpse of the Chief Minister.

Dental surgeon of Capital Hospital, Soumendra Sarangi said that the entire process took around 30 minutes. “Earlier I had done the root canal treatment of the upper front tooth in December and today was the next stage of the treatment. It was a cosmetic treatment and he was very cooperative during the treatment,” said Sarangi.

Capital Hospital, the state government-run hospital was set up in 1954 on 20 acres of land. The hospital caters to 70,000 indoor and eight lakh outdoor patients every year with patients coming from Bhubaneswar and its neighbouring districts of Cuttack, Nayagarh, Puri and Khordha.

However, patients visiting the hospital often rue lack of infrastructure at the hospital. Hospital authorities said that the visit of the Chief Minister will definitely be helpful in building up the image of the hospital.
