Chief Minister Announces Pucca Houses For Cyclone Affected Families

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced allotment of pucca houses for Fani affected families. Patnaik made the announcement at the state secretariat after a review  meeting related to cyclone relief and restoration

As per the announcement, the families with substantially and completely damaged houses will get pucca houses. The chief minister said that house damage assessment will begin from May 15 and will be completed within a week.

“ Senior officials will be appointed to supervise the assessment process in all severely affected blocks. Work order distribution to the beneficiaries will start from June 1. I assure that all efforts will be put in to ensure that not a single eligible person is left out,” said Patnaik.

Earlier the office of the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) has estimated that 5.08 lakh houses were damaged in the cyclone including  1.95 lakh in Puri district only. Cyclone Fani had made landfall in the district on May 3.
