Chattisgarh:Two Women Maoists killed In Encounter In Dantewada

Malkangiri: Two women maoists were killed in an exchange of fire between the security forces and the naxals at Dantewada district of Chattisgarh near Malkangiri border.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Dantewada District Reserve Guard (DRG) was out on a search operation at Kalepal Jungle,when the rebels opened fire at the security forces, that continued  for around half-an hour.

The bodies of two women ultras along with 2 pistols and huge amount of explosives were recovered from the spot.

The bodies of one of the Maoists were identified as Vijje Markam and Ayte Mandavi.  Both of them were carrying a reward of Rs 2 lakh and Rs 5 lakh on their head. Both were a member of the Malangir area committee and regional head of military intelligence.

After the incident, the search operation has been intensified, informs Abhishek Pallava, Dantewada SP.
