Ceiling plaster chunk collapses in Bhubaneswar school; no students hurt

Bhubaneswar: A group of students had a narrow escape and a major mishap was averted after a chunk of ceiling plaster collapsed in a school in Khandagiri area in the city this morning.

As per the report, the mishap took place at the Satyasai Sevashram Primary School soon after the commencement of the school hours. Though the plaster collapse took place while classes were underway it luckily didn’t fell on any student or teacher.

Tension gripped the school premise following the incident and students along with parents staged protest in front of its gate. They demanded repairing of the school building on a war footing basis claiming that the structure has turned into a death trap.

The agitating students and parents were pacified after the Cluster Resource Centre Coordinator (CRCC) Ankita Mohapatra reached the spot and assured them of doing the needful on an urgent basis.

The classes of the school would be held inside a room of the Mother’s Public School which is located nearby, assured Mohapatra.
