New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on its official website – cbse.nic.in confirmed that the annual board exams of Class 10 and 12 will be conducted in March next year. However, it has given emphasis for an “error-free” evaluation of the answer sheets.

The Board in a release said that it would be conducting the AISSE and AISSCE examinations in March, 2018 for the secondary and senior secondary level.

To ensure quality and error free evaluation of the answer booklets, the CBSE has written to the affiliated schools to rope in experienced and trained teachers. In case the school fails to follow the guidelines the Board shall have the right to take appropriate action including initiating action for disaffiliation of the school.

Notably, error in evaluation had created resentment across the country this year with many students applying for re-evaluation. It was seen that most of the students got more marks after re-evaluation.

The CBSE is planning to sum up the examination within a month to give more time to teachers to evaluate answer sheets.

The CBSE has also issued certain instructions for the affiliated schools for the smooth conduct of the exam and “error-free” evaluation. It said schools should ensure that all teachers, teaching classes 9 to 12, for all subjects, register themselves, on the examination portal and fill the teachers’ database.

Besides, it said that the teachers should be relieved for evaluation of answer script who are identified by CBSE for this purpose.

The CBSE further instructed that the teachers identified as evaluators of answer script should not be given other teaching or school related work during the evaluation days so that they can focus completely on evaluation.

The CBSE affiliated schools have been directed to ensure that all teachers undergo requisite training for pre-evaluation as mandated by the board.
