Bhubaneswar: Taking ahead the probe process in the multi-crore Seashore chit fund scam, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Sunday served notices to at least two senior officials of the State Government.

The officials against whom the notices have been issued are IAS officer Parag Gupta and retiried IAS officer Sangram Keshari Ray. The official duo has been asked to appear before the central investigative agency on July 2.

The action was initiated against the official duo after their alleged complicity with the Ponzi farm came to fore during the CBI investigation.

Gupta was serving as the Secretary of Tourism Department and Ray was working as the General Manager of Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC) at the time when the Sashore company managed to dupe lakhs of gullible depositors with the promise of hefty return on their investments.

While Ray has already retired from service, Gupta has been placed as the Joint Secretary of Ministry of Food Processing Industries by the State Government.

Taking into consideration the current position and status of their jobs the investigative bureau sent its notices to the General Admistration (GA) Department of Odisha Government, which handed over those to the recipients later.
