Dhenkanal: Irate mob reportedly attacked CBI officials on Tuesday in Dhenkanal district of Odisha when the officials had visited the village to probe the linkage of a suspect with child pornography. However, Town Police rushed to the spot and rescued the officials from the clutch of the irate mob.
As per reports, the incident took place at Dhenkanal’s Jublee town area. The CBI officials were quizzing the suspect about his link. However, as the process was long, the irate mob started gathering at the spot.
The accused has been identified as Mithun Nayak, a native of Jublee town area.
The CBI team verified his transaction details of his bank accounts. It has been said that the accused has received money from a foreign account for uploading porn content to their site.
CBI has seized the accused’s mobile phone for investigation.
Later, the locals including women obstructed way of the CBI team and attacked him opposing the long-time raid at the house of the accused. However, after getting alerted, Police personnel from Town PS rushed to the spot and rescued the CBI officials.
