Cattle Smuggling: 50 cows rescued in Odisha

Balasore: A cattle smuggling racket was busted by Sergarh Police on Wednesday after they seized two vans here which were illegally smuggling about 50 cows to West Bengal.

A local cow vigilante group suspected the vans of cattle smuggling. The vans were asked to stay put and the local police were called upon the scene.

The driver and the helper of the van managed to flee the scene but it was seen that the cattle were being transported in inhumane conditions.

The Sergarh Police transferred the cattle to Bampada cattle shed and has begun an investigation.
