Cattle-laden vehicle hits car, flees in Bhadrak

Bhadrak: A cattle-laden pickup van reportedly hit a car near the Old State Bank of Basudevpur in the Bhadrak district today.

The cattle-laden pickup van hit the car which was coming from the same direction and hit an electric pole on the roadside when it was on its way to Jamujhadi from Dhamra.

The driver of the pickup van later fled the spot but the four Bajrang Dal youths who were in the car narrowly escaped from being hurt and informed the police about the matter after noticing that there were more than 10 bulls in the cattle-laden vehicle.

Suspecting that the driver was involved in the smuggling of cattle, they blocked the road and demanded an end to the illegal smuggling of cows in the area.

Police reached the spot, took stock of the situation, managed to pacify the agitators and lifted the road blockade.
