Bargarh: The Flying Squad of Election Commission seized cash worth Rs 3.5 lakh cash from a car during vehicle inspection near Sarandapali area in Bargarh this evening ahead of Bijepur bypoll.
The person carrying the cash has been identified as Madhusudan Das. The officials of the Flying Squad are further interrogating him further to ascertain the purpose behind carrying huge cash. Sources said that Das was on his way to Boudh in the Bolero vehicle when he was intercepted with the cash.
Earlier on Thursday night, the squad has seized Rs 19 lakh from Barpali area. The bypoll for the assembly constituency will be held on October 21.
