Case registered against Sambalpur MLA Jayanarayan Mishra over death threat

Sambalpur: A case has been registered against Sambalpur MLA Jayanarayan Mishra today. Police filed the case against Jayanarayan Mishra based on the complaint of Sambalpur Sadar Tehsildar.

Sambalpur Sadar Tehsildar Laxman Amat filed a written complaint at Khetrajpur Police Station alleging that the Sambalpur MLA issued him a death threat during an eviction drive in Khetrajpur area recently.

According to reports, the Sadar Tehsildar along with a team of police, local administration and officials from the electricity department were evicting some illegally constructed houses and establishments in Khetrajpur area on February 12.

On being informed, BJP MLA Jayanarayan Mishra rushed to the spot along with some of his supporters and protested the eviction drive of the administration.

A heated argument ensued between Mishra and Amat, who tried to convince the former. In the process, the former allegedly gave death threat to the latter.
