Carcass of whale shark recovered in Jagatsinghpur

Jagatsinghpur: The carcass of a whale shark was recovered near Ramatala, Siali beach under Erasama block of Jagatsinghpur district. Reportedly, the carcass of shark is around 20-ft long and 4-ft wide.

The carcass of shark was found half-buried in sand by the locals following which they immediately informed it to the local forest department authorities.

On getting the information, the officials of Kujang Forest Department arrived at the spot and sent the shark’s carcass for postmortem.

The cops have initiated an investigation to ascertain the cause behind the death of largest known extant fish species whale shark.
