Bhubaneswar: The carcass of a female elephant was found near the roadside of Dalaka village under Deuli panchayat of Begunia block in Khordha district today morning.
Following information, the forest officials have reached the spot and started an investigation.
The exact cause behind the death of the elephant is yet to be ascertained.
Sources said, around 25-30 elephants were spotted near the dam in Dalaka village. Yesterday the forest officials launched a drive to disperse the elephant herd.
