Bhubaneswar: A head-on collision between a car and scooty has reportedly left a man critically injured in Bhubaneswar on Sunday.
One Rajendra Sahoo was going towards the Raj Bhawan from the Power House Chhak on his scooty (OD-02 AD 8666) this afternoon. He had a head-on collision with a Tata Indigo car (OR- 17 J 7749), which was also going towards Raj Bhawan from the AG Square.
Rajendra sustained critical injuries following the road accident. He was rescued and rushed to the Capital Hospital for treatment by some locals. Later, he was shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as his condition deteriorated.
A police team from the Capital Police Station reached the spot after getting information and seized both the ill-fated vehicles. They also detained the car driver, Rakesh Kumar Rath of Niali area, for interrogation.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
