Rayagada: Police have arrested a hardcore Maoist militia identified as Sikunu Sikaka (31) of Mayabali village from the Niyamgiri mountain range in the district.
Acting on reliable information, Kalyansingh police conducted a raid and nabbed Sikaka, a cadre under the Bansadhara Ghumushar Nagavalli division of CPI Maoist organisation.
Police said that Sikka was involved in attack and vandalisation of a contractual camp in the district in February 2017.
“Sikaka was also involved in recruiting youths the Dongria Kondh tribe of Niyamgiri hills into the organization. He was also involved in providing logistic support and collection of money for the rebel organization,” said a police official.
