BWF Odisha Open 2022 begins from tomorrow, 300 players including 5 from Odisha to take part

Cuttack: Stage all set for the much-awaited BWF Odisha Open 2022. The BWF Super 100 tournament, which is slated to begin from tomorrow at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Cuttack, will continue till January 30.

As many as 300 players from 18 countries will take part in the tournament. Five players from Odisha are also playing the tournament which will be managed by 200 officials.

The RT-PCR tests of all the participants are being conducted in view of the pandemic situation across the country.

The Odisha Open will be held behind closed doors without spectators and strict adherence to Covid guidelines and norms laid down by the State government and Badminton World Federation (BWF).

This is the first time that Odisha is hosting the marquee badminton tournament.

The Sports and Youth Services Department of Odisha government is working closely with the Badminton Association of India and Odisha State Badminton Association to ensure that the event is as per BWF standards and is conducted smoothly with the safety of players being given utmost priority.

Likewise, Cuttack district administration and Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) are also ensuring the peaceful and smooth conduction of the tournament.
