Bhubaneswar: A city-based businessman was allegedly abducted by a group of six miscreants on gunpoint near Nayapalli on late last night. The victim identified as Shiv Sundar Das, however, had an escape after the SUV used for his abduction was hit by a truck near Vani Vihar.
The victim alleged that he was sleeping in his car when the group of miscreants reached the spot and abducted him along with his car on gunpoint. “I had an argument with my wife for which I decided to sleep in the car. They threatened me on gunpoint and kidnapped me. There was a routine vehicle checking by RTO officials when the SUV hit a truck following which all of them escaped from the spot,” alleged Das.
Police have found two pistols and two mobile phones from the SUV. “A case in this connection has been registered with the Nayapalli police station. We are trying to verify the allegation levelled by the businessman,” said deputy commissioner of police, Anup Kumar Sahoo.
