Sambalpur: A youth was killed after being mowed down by a passenger bus near Sadhapada on Kuchinda-Bamra road on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Pritam Bage, a resident of Kuchinda area.
As per the report, Pritam was en-route to a nearby village on foot early in the morning when the mishap took place. The driver of the passenger bus which was heading to Bamra lost control over the wheels and struck the victim from behind on Ghunghuti ghati.
Tension prevailed at the accident spot post the mishap and locals demanded arrest of the accused driver who managed to escape.
Local Police rushed to the spot and sent the body of the deceased for autopsy after pacifying the irate locals.
