Koraput: At least 15 people were injured when a private-run-bus crashed into the side railing on NH- 26 near Kauguntha village under Pottangi Police limits in Odisha’s Koraput district in the wee hours of Friday.
The injured were rushed to Pottangi hospital for their treatment, while two of them, who sustained critical injuries, were shifted to the Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital in Koraput.
According to reports, the bus named as “Nadiarani” bearing Regd No: OD 05 AA 5977, carrying around 45 passengers, was heading towards Jeypore from Cuttack. The mishap occurred at around 4 AM when the Bus driver lost control over the vehicle.
On being informed, local police and Fire Service personnel reached the spot and rescued the passengers with the help of the local people.
A case has been registered at Pottangi police station in this connection.
