Rayagada: In a tragic accident, a woman lost her life while 30 others have been injured as a passenger bus overturned near Hatikhamba under Chandili police limits in Rayagada district late on Tuesday night.
Reportedly, the bus, named Saikrupa, was en route to Umerkote in Nabarangpur district from Paralakhemundi. The deceased woman has been identified as Sunita Satpathy. She was a teacher by profession.
On getting the information, the local police and firefighters arrived at the spot and initiated the rescue operation.
Among all the injured passengers, around 14 people sustained critical injuries and they were rushed to District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) Rayagada, Gunupur hospital and Mukundapur Medical for immediate medical treatment.
