Bhubaneswar: The state government today increased fares for all categories of passenger buses as per the automatic fare adjustment mechanism.
As per the notification, the fares for ordinary and express buses have been increased by 1 paisa per kilometre, while fares for Deluxe and AC Deluxe category buses have been increased by 2 paise per kilometre.
With this hike coming into effect, the fare for ordinary buses will now be 69 paise per km as against 68 paise per km earlier, while the fare of express buses has been increased to 72 paise from 71 paise per km.
Similarly, deluxe category buses will now charge 99 paise per km as against 97 paise earlier and commuters travelling in AC Deluxe buses have to pay Rs 1.21 instead of the current fare of Rs 1.19 per km.
