Bhubaneswar: Chandaka police today busted a gang of burglars and arrested seven members. Police have also arrested five others for receiving stolen articles.
The accused have been identified as Shiba Sahoo (22), Biswanath Dehury (22), Chandan Mohapatra (19), Bachan Nayak (23), Arata Jena (35), Dhirendra Dehury (28) and Pinku Behera (28).
Police have also seized several electronic items including laptops and mobile phones from the accused. Police have also seized as many as nine gas cylinders and 14 water pumps from the accused.
“The gang is involved in number of burglary cases in various places in Bhubaneswar and outskirts. We are further verifying their antecedents,” said a police official.
