Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has instructed that it shall seal the residential and commercial buildings in Bhubaneswar if the holding tax is not paid.
This directive has come close to heels to the protest by residents due to the steep hike in the tax structure.
The BMC in a letter to the all zonal deputy commissioners (ZDCs), directed to initiate certificate cases, under the OPDR Act 162, against all the defaulters.
The BMC further directed that ward supervisors may be instructed to file requisition before the ZDCs accordingly.
