Bhubaneswar: The last rites of Border Security Force (BSF) jawan Jayprakash Mahapatra were performed at his native place Aranchala village under Nirakarpur Tehsil of Odisha’s Khurda district.
Mahapatra’s last rite was performed amid the presence of thousands of locals, district administrations and BSF officials. He was given the gun salutation by the BSF jawans.
It is to be noted here that Jayprakash was killed in a road accident in Assam’s Shillong on May 10. He met with the road mishap while giving driver training to the newly appointed BJF jawans.
The deceased jawan is survived by his wife Truptirekha Mahapatra and two daughters- Subhasmita and Pratiksha.
