Brown Sugar Seized In Two Separate Places Of Odisha, 9 Arrested

Angul: The Odisha police has seized brown sugar from Talcher city in Angul district and Sambalpur district of Odisha and arrested nine drug peddlers in this connection.

Acting on tip-off, the police intercepted a car in Talcher area and seized 13 grams of brown sugar. The cops have arrested six drug peddlers from the spot and have also seized one car and five mobile phones from the accused.

In another incident, the Sambalpur town police conducted a raid in Sahu colony in the city and seized 7.6 grams of brown sugar. The Sambalpur police have arrested three drug peddlers, identified as Mohammad Aaraf, Vikas Dudka and Banti Pradhan. The cops have also seized Rs 3740 and three mobile phones from their possession.

The estimated worth of the seized brown sugar is one lakh fifty thousand rupees.

The accused have been forwarded to the court, said sources.
